Privacy Policy Terms of Service

1. About these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Oneslice desktop application, related website, and associated services (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by ALOY BOSE, an individual doing business as Polytonist, based in India ("we", "us", or "our"). Polytonist is a trading name, not a separate incorporated entity.

By accepting these Terms during registration, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled; acknowledging that policy does not, by itself, constitute consent to every optional use of personal information.

Contact us at hello@tryoneslice.com for support, billing, and privacy enquiries. Send formal legal notices to polytonistteam@gmail.com. Our community and additional support channel is https://dsc.gg/polytonist. Designating an email contact does not replace a legally required method of serving formal proceedings. These Terms do not govern a third party's independent services or replace the terms applicable to your transaction with our merchant of record.

2. Eligibility

Oneslice is intended for people aged 13 or older. You must also meet any higher age or other eligibility requirement applicable to your use under local law. Where parental or guardian permission, involvement, or consent is legally required, you may use the Service only when those requirements have been satisfied. An age statement in these Terms is not a substitute for legally required permission or safeguards.

You must have the legal capacity or appropriate authorization to enter this agreement. You may not use the Service where doing so would violate applicable law, sanctions, or restrictions imposed by essential service providers.

3. Accounts and permitted use

An account is required to use Oneslice's functional app features, including the free plan. Registration is available through supported email/password and Google sign-in methods. You must provide accurate information, complete required verification, and keep your credentials secure.

You may use an account on multiple computers and may authorize other eligible people to share it. Shared access is not a team workspace: people using the same account may access its content, consume the same allowances, change its settings, and affect its security. Individual permissions and separate member data boundaries are not provided within a shared account. Account-wide restrictions or termination affect everyone using that account.

Commercial and workplace use is permitted. You remain responsible for obtaining any permissions needed from an employer, client, content owner, or other person whose information you process. Contact us promptly if you believe your account is compromised. Responsibility for activity through your account remains subject to applicable law and does not excuse our own legal obligations.

4. Licence to use Oneslice

Subject to these Terms and your applicable plan, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive right to install and use Oneslice on supported devices for personal or commercial purposes. This is a licence to use the software, not a transfer of ownership of the software, branding, website, or other service materials.

Rights in the Service remain with their respective owners and licensors. Third-party and open-source components may be governed by their own licences. Nothing in these Terms removes rights those licences or applicable law give you.

5. Voice features, desktop access, and AI actions

Oneslice provides voice dictation, an AI Assistant, and associated productivity tools. Depending on your plan, settings, and request, the Assistant can respond to questions, write or replace text in compatible fields, create reminders or timers, start or reset a stopwatch, append Scratchpad content, add Dictionary entries, and inspect supported screen or text context.

When you invoke a feature, you authorize the access and processing reasonably necessary to carry it out, subject to applicable law and the Privacy Policy. Some actions execute without a separate confirmation prompt. Keep the intended application and text field focused and review the result before sending, publishing, or relying on it.

Enhanced screen inspection can capture the entire primary display, including unrelated information visible there. Selected-text/context retrieval can use Windows accessibility services and a clipboard-copy fallback, and may access text in the focused field when no selection is available. Clipboard restoration may not preserve every data format. Microphone operation can include a short local rolling pre-recording buffer while the input stream is active. Further details appear in the Privacy Policy.

AI results can be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, offensive, or unsuitable for your purpose. Dictation cleanup, tone, formatting, names, logged transcripts, and suggested Dictionary entries can contain errors. The Service does not guarantee verbatim transcription, factual accuracy, a particular response, or a fixed latency. Time-saved statistics are calculated estimates, not verified measurements of your productivity or earnings.

The Service is not an emergency-response system or a substitute for qualified professional advice. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for decisions that could cause significant harm. Provider safety systems may restrict or alter responses; Oneslice does not promise unfiltered content or that every request will be fulfilled.

6. Plans and allowances

The Service offers Basic, Lite, Premium, and Professional plans. Plan features, recording limits, Dictionary capacity, Standard Assistant allowances, and dictation quotas are displayed in the app or applicable purchase information. The price and plan terms shown at checkout and accepted when you purchase govern that purchase, subject to mandatory law. Test-mode checkout is not a real paid production purchase.

Dictation usage is measured in recognized spoken words. Its weekly allowance resets on Monday at 00:00 UTC. Standard Assistant daily allowances reset at 00:00 UTC. Showing a reset time in your local timezone does not change those boundaries. Recognition and counting can be imperfect. A dictation turn admitted while an allowance remains may finish even if it crosses the remaining word allowance; this does not provide an unlimited entitlement to start further turns.

Enhanced processing requires a compatible plan and usable credits. It can offer additional Assistant capabilities and context access; it does not guarantee a different or stronger dictation model on every request. Model selection, fallback processing, and the number of processing steps can vary.

7. Included and purchased credits

Included credits and separately purchased credits are distinct balances:

  • Included credits form part of an eligible subscription. They refresh for the applicable subscription cycle, do not accumulate as a cash balance, and are consumed before purchased credits. A plan change may produce a prorated allowance adjustment rather than a second full allowance.
  • Purchased credits are one-time additions. They do not become a permanently renewable monthly allowance and are not recreated after being spent. They carry across ordinary billing-cycle resets while the account remains eligible, subject to the rules below.

Credits are internal usage units, not currency, deposits, transferable money, or a promise of a fixed number of turns. Enhanced deductions vary with processing cost, including applicable transcription and related AI work. The current conversion is the relevant provider cost in US dollars multiplied by 500, rounded up to a whole credit. When a provider does not supply a monetary cost, configured pricing and available usage information are used to calculate it. Estimates and billing reconciliation can affect the amount recorded.

Premium and Professional are compatible tiers for spending purchased credits. If you move to Basic or Lite with purchased credits remaining, those credits are locked and receive a 90-day expiry deadline, measured as 2,160 hours. Moving between Basic and Lite does not restart that deadline. Returning to a compatible tier before the deadline restores eligibility and removes that incompatibility deadline. Credits already expired are not restored by upgrading. Any later move to an incompatible tier is subject to the same rule.

Unused included credits are not purchased-credit carry-forward. Purchased credits have no right to cash redemption or voluntary refund except as expressly offered at purchase, required by law, or determined by the merchant of record. Account deletion or lawful termination can end the ability to use remaining credits, subject to those protections.

Some processing or allowance reservation occurs before a turn finishes. A later validation, connection, action-delivery, or text-insertion failure does not necessarily undo processing already performed or automatically refund the allowance or credits used. Contact support if you believe a deduction is incorrect.

8. Payments, renewal, and billing changes

Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Its checkout, payment, invoice, tax, and transaction terms also apply. Unless expressly stated otherwise at checkout, paid subscriptions renew automatically at the disclosed recurring interval until cancelled. Applicable taxes, currency conversion, and payment-method charges are determined by the checkout and relevant providers.

You authorize the recurring charges disclosed when you subscribe and must keep your payment information valid. Review the merchant's billing portal and contact support about suspected duplicate or incorrect billing. We do not guarantee that a user can never create overlapping subscriptions; equally, these Terms do not transfer responsibility for our own billing errors to you or remove applicable correction or refund rights.

An upgrade may request an immediate prorated payment. Higher-tier access is dependent on verification of the required payment, not merely clicking an upgrade button. Verification can take time. A failed or unverified payment does not entitle you to an unpaid upgrade. Downgrades ordinarily take effect at the next applicable billing-cycle boundary, as shown when you make the change. A downgrade does not automatically create a prorated refund.

If renewal payment fails, paid entitlements may end or be restricted when payment cannot be verified. We do not offer a separate guaranteed grace period. This is distinct from permanent account termination.

9. Cancellation, deletion, and promotions

You may cancel renewal through the supported billing controls or Lemon Squeezy customer portal. Ordinary cancellation preserves paid access until the end of the current paid period. Uninstalling the app, stopping use, or disabling an email preference does not cancel a subscription.

Account deletion is a separate, potentially irreversible action. The deletion flow attempts to cancel associated subscriptions, but a failed or incomplete deletion request must not be treated as proof that billing has ended. Verify cancellation in the billing portal and contact support if completion is unclear.

Free access, promotional Premium access, and credit or subscription offers are governed by the terms presented with the particular offer, including eligibility and duration. A promotional code is not a standing promise of a free trial, a refund right, or recurring free service. Do not assume an offer starts a paid renewal unless that renewal has been disclosed and authorized.

10. Refunds, payment disputes, and fraud

Except where applicable law requires otherwise or Lemon Squeezy determines otherwise, purchases are final and we do not offer voluntary refunds. This includes unused or partially used subscriptions or credits, mistaken purchases, overlapping subscriptions, and interruptions that do not otherwise create a legal refund entitlement. We do not offer a general money-back period.

Nothing in these Terms prevents a lawful refund request, payment dispute, chargeback, statutory cancellation, or other non-waivable consumer remedy. Lemon Squeezy has its own authority to issue refunds and handle disputes, including discretion described in its refunds and chargebacks policy.

We may review payment disputes and suspected fraud, request relevant information, correct entitlements for refunded or reversed payments, or terminate an account for substantiated abuse under these Terms. Exercising a legitimate legal right is not, by itself, fraud or a prohibited use. Contact support if you believe an account or billing decision is mistaken. Any discretionary exception does not promise the same outcome in another case.

11. Your content, AI output, and feedback

You retain your existing rights in material you provide. You grant us permission to host, copy, transmit, process, and display that material as reasonably necessary to provide the requested features, synchronize your account, handle support, investigate abuse, and comply with law, as described in the Privacy Policy. This permission is not an unrestricted right to sell your private content.

You must have the rights and permissions necessary for the information you submit, capture, dictate, or make available from another application. Do not process another person's confidential or sensitive information without an appropriate basis.

We do not claim ownership of your AI output merely because you use Oneslice. Rights in output remain subject to applicable law, third-party rights, and relevant provider terms. Output may resemble material produced for other users and may not be eligible for exclusive intellectual-property protection.

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or bug reports, you permit us to use them to maintain and improve the Service without an obligation to compensate you. We may also quote feedback in service descriptions or testimonials and associate attribution with it only to the extent permitted by applicable law and any required permissions. Acceptance of these Terms does not replace separate, valid consent where the law requires it for publishing personal information, including a name, email address, or profile image. Contact us about an attribution or privacy concern.

12. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to violate law or another person's rights; facilitate terrorism, violence, exploitation, fraud, or unlawful harassment; obtain unauthorized access to accounts or systems; upload malicious code; spam or attack databases or services; circumvent applicable usage or payment controls; or materially interfere with infrastructure or other users.

You must not extract confidential credentials, defeat security controls, or reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software except to the extent applicable law or a relevant third-party licence permits those activities. A legally protected activity is not prohibited merely because this paragraph uses a general restriction.

Serious malicious activity or prohibited reverse engineering may result in immediate termination without advance warning, subject to applicable law. Do not attempt to evade a lawful account ban by recreating the same prohibited identity or continuing the underlying abuse. Report suspected vulnerabilities to hello@tryoneslice.com without accessing others' data or disrupting the Service.

13. Storage, synchronization, and plan changes

Some data is stored locally and some is synchronized to our backend. Cloud AI features require connectivity. Offline edits can synchronize when connectivity returns, but simultaneous changes, device failures, interruptions, or software errors can cause conflicts or loss. Keep independent copies of important material; the Service is not a guaranteed archival or disaster-recovery system.

Downgrades and expiry can reduce access to paid features and history. Dictionary entries exceeding a lower tier's limit can be removed, and history can be reduced or cleared under applicable plan limits. Do not assume all excess entries will be preserved until you upgrade. Review important content before changing plans.

Deleting an item is not an assurance of instantaneous removal from every offline device, backup, diagnostic record, or previously supplied AI context. Account deletion and retention are explained in the Privacy Policy.

14. Termination and account access

You may stop using the Service and request account deletion through the app or support. We may terminate an account for a material breach of these Terms, substantiated abuse or fraud, unlawful activity, or another legally justified reason. We do not offer a separate temporary account-suspension programme, although payment verification, emergency maintenance, and technical controls can temporarily restrict particular services.

For less serious matters, we may email you before termination and allow a reasonable response period. Advance notice, a cure period, or a negotiated outcome is not guaranteed where urgent action is reasonably necessary, serious abuse is involved, or notice would be inappropriate or unlawful. Any mandatory notice or procedural rights remain unaffected.

Termination may permanently delete the account and its active app content. Restoring access is not the same as restoring deleted data. Where practicable, raise an appeal or export request before termination; we cannot promise recovery of deleted content afterward. You may still contact support about a mistaken decision or exercise applicable privacy rights concerning information that remains. Retained ban, security, transaction, support, and backup records are addressed in the Privacy Policy.

15. Availability, maintenance, and changes

The Service depends on your device, network, target applications, operating system, and third-party providers. We do not offer an uptime guarantee, fixed support response time, or service-level agreement. Features may be introduced as alpha, beta, or experimental and may change as the product develops.

We may restrict or disable requests, AI access, or the app during maintenance, security incidents, abuse, or other operational emergencies. We may update features, supported models, and technical requirements. Such changes remain subject to existing purchase commitments, applicable law, and any required notice or remedy; this paragraph does not authorize us to disregard mandatory rights relating to materially changed paid services.

16. Warranties and liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as available" basis without additional promises of uninterrupted operation, error-free AI, compatibility with every application, or fitness for a particular purpose. No informal product description creates a service-level guarantee unless we expressly agree otherwise.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, including lost anticipated profits, resulting from use of the Service. These exclusions do not apply where the law prohibits them, and nothing excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence where such liability cannot be limited, or any other non-excludable liability.

If you are a consumer, statutory guarantees, remedies, and other mandatory protections available to you are preserved. You are not required to waive them to use Oneslice.

17. Third-party services

Third-party authentication, hosting, AI, payment, email, and support services operate under their own applicable terms and policies. We do not control every act or interruption of those providers, but their involvement does not remove our responsibilities for the Service where applicable law makes us responsible. Links to external sites do not make them part of Oneslice.

18. Updates to these Terms

We may update these Terms and publish the revised version with a new effective date. Please review them periodically. Except where required by applicable law or an express commitment, we do not undertake to send a separate email or in-app notice for every update.

Where a change requires advance notice, renewed agreement, or consent, those requirements apply. Continued use does not substitute for an action legally required to make a change effective, and a revised document does not retroactively authorize an unrelated use of personal information.

19. Disputes and general provisions

Please contact hello@tryoneslice.com about a dispute so we can consider a resolution. This does not prevent you from contacting a regulator, using an available merchant dispute process, or bringing a claim before a competent court. These Terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or remove jurisdiction or consumer-law protections that apply to you by law.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent legally possible. A decision not to enforce a provision in one case does not waive it in every case. Provisions intended by their nature to survive account closure remain applicable, including payment obligations already incurred, relevant content permissions, lawful liability limitations, and dispute provisions.
